hello, I'm Rodrick and I draw, paint, write and take pictures. Thank you so much for all of the support! he/they . 19 . i like cats and frogs
So I'll be honest that I don't have a ton of experience with different kinds of cameras. I have one small digital camera that's like an old Sony CyperShot that I got around 11 years ago. [This is one of the photosets I took with that camera](https://naiad.waterfall.social/post/447974). It's 12.1 megapixels. All the really good photos I've posted since like 2018 have been with a Cannon Rebel T6 and it's a DSLR camera that's 18 megapixels. (Full disclosure I'm not totally sure what megapixels are but whenever I've bought a new phone I try to find the one with the highest number in my price range.nn nIf you're very set on photography as a passion I would very strongly suggest looking into DSLR cameras. Mine was around $500 but there are some that are closer to the $200 range. I chose mine because you can change the lens. I have a huge lens that can zoom in to up to like 500 feet and it's an off-brand with an adaptor that lets it fit on the cannon rebel brand. I can also someday buy other lenses that aren't so huge or like macro lenses for taking pictures of really small things.nn nI've always had really good experiences with Sony and Cannon but I'd for sure look into reviews and stuff too and if you can, find one with instructions or download a pdf of a manual.nn nYou could definitely get a small digital camera like the CyberShot I have and it would probably still be better than a phone camera but depending on how much you're willing to spend it might be more worth it to wait a bit to get a DSLR that's going to take much higher quality pics.nn nAgain though I got my smaller camera in high school and I kind of bought the Rebel on a whim and I use it almost everywhere but it IS heavy and awkward so if you want to be more discreet I'd go with something smaller tbh. Sorry this is kind of all over the place I'm not great at giving advice lmao D;nn nLet me know if you have any other questions!
this is all very useful, thank you! I wonder if I should wait to invest in a DSLR because there's a lot I want to learn how to do, and I'd like to do it with a very capable camera- I'll look into those, thank you!
I'd love to follow your tumblr! The only thing I can suggest to be seen is to try to use more common tags but it's pretty hard. I get a lot more notes on stuff here than I do there and I have a MUCH bigger folloing over there lol.
I'm creek-nymph over there
thanks for the tips! ^^ I'm itsrick1560 , i'm probably going to change it soon but I have no idea what to, nightisms is taken there and i don't want to feel like i'm copying someone by just adding a hyphen or something lol
hey, I just wanted to say again, thank you guys for all of the reblogs/favs/comments <3 it's really ecouraging to me as a beginner to see people responding to my stuff, so thank you!
I also wanted to say that I recently made a Tumblr! it's not very professional, mostly just me reblogging memes and art and other various things, but I do post my photos there sometimes. However I don't really know how to get stuff seen on that site, so no luck thus far. If anyone's interested in following me let me know and I'll link it, but be warned that it's nowhere near as tidy/focused as I've kept this blog, the vibe is kind of all over the place and it's as disorganized and haphazard as I am in real life, haha. I might make a side blog for my photography but I'm not sure yet
hey guys, how do i use the multiple accounts feature? id like to make an account for reblogging things
oh wow so many notes on things?? thank you! ;-; <3
I love your comments on my pics c:
ahh im glad ^^ your stuff is super inspiring to me and i love seeing it
I've got a lot of pictures to go through and pick what to post, but while I do, here's the guy behind the blog I guess LOL- sorry about the bad/grainy photo.
anyways, hello- I'm Rodrick and I'm a dfab nonbinary individual (he/they) I'm a freshman in college currently studying visual arts, and photography is a hobby I picked up during quarantine; admittedly I don't know a thing about it but I'm trying xD
I'm also a hobbyist writer, appreciator of music (though how anyone can make it baffles me), and cat parent
apologies for the disappearance; life got busy around the holidays and then afterwards I got sad for some reason, but I'll try and have some content out soon.
hope everyone's having a good time <3
Hey pals one of my friends is a lovely homeless black woman who hasn't eaten in several days along with her mom. If anyone could throw her a few bucks for food, it would be much appreciated from both of them. She had to pay to get her car towed tonight so she's rly strapped for cash at the moment, anything helps
the time between
ahh i never do text posts but-
sorry if this is a weird question, but does anyone have any tips on how to approach a friend about setting up boundaries? I get too awkward to try, and I always feel like the timing is wrong, but I'm going to get burnt out and resentful if I don't do it
Hope Im not a bother, but do you have any dni/byf standards?
hello, thank you for the consideration!
Not really, as I feel it's a bit futile to try and manage who sees/interacts with my content beyond a block if someone bothers me. If one is a blatant harrasser/theif/troll/etc, needless to say i don't appreciate that kind of follower, but otherwise come on in
middle of somewhere
the site won't let me like posts :( anyone else
but who's looking, anyway
