hello, I'm Rodrick and I draw, paint, write and take pictures. Thank you so much for all of the support! he/they . 19 . i like cats and frogs
I appreciate the donate offer and no worries on not having a paypal :) It's just kind of a side thing n_n If you can figure out a way to get a paypal though it's super helpful and you can use it for sites to sell your photos and art someday!
Thank you! I'm hoping I can, too; I just gotta get some stuff figured out with my bank but then to do that, I need to figure out some ID stuff, and it's a big mess -_-" workin on it tho oof
So I'll be honest that I don't have a ton of experience with different kinds of cameras. I have one small digital camera that's like an old Sony CyperShot that I got around 11 years ago. [This is one of the photosets I took with that camera](https://naiad.waterfall.social/post/447974). It's 12.1 megapixels. All the really good photos I've posted since like 2018 have been with a Cannon Rebel T6 and it's a DSLR camera that's 18 megapixels. (Full disclosure I'm not totally sure what megapixels are but whenever I've bought a new phone I try to find the one with the highest number in my price range.nn nIf you're very set on photography as a passion I would very strongly suggest looking into DSLR cameras. Mine was around $500 but there are some that are closer to the $200 range. I chose mine because you can change the lens. I have a huge lens that can zoom in to up to like 500 feet and it's an off-brand with an adaptor that lets it fit on the cannon rebel brand. I can also someday buy other lenses that aren't so huge or like macro lenses for taking pictures of really small things.nn nI've always had really good experiences with Sony and Cannon but I'd for sure look into reviews and stuff too and if you can, find one with instructions or download a pdf of a manual.nn nYou could definitely get a small digital camera like the CyberShot I have and it would probably still be better than a phone camera but depending on how much you're willing to spend it might be more worth it to wait a bit to get a DSLR that's going to take much higher quality pics.nn nAgain though I got my smaller camera in high school and I kind of bought the Rebel on a whim and I use it almost everywhere but it IS heavy and awkward so if you want to be more discreet I'd go with something smaller tbh. Sorry this is kind of all over the place I'm not great at giving advice lmao D;nn nLet me know if you have any other questions!
this is all very useful, thank you! I wonder if I should wait to invest in a DSLR because there's a lot I want to learn how to do, and I'd like to do it with a very capable camera- I'll look into those, thank you!
I'd love to follow your tumblr! The only thing I can suggest to be seen is to try to use more common tags but it's pretty hard. I get a lot more notes on stuff here than I do there and I have a MUCH bigger folloing over there lol.
I'm creek-nymph over there
thanks for the tips! ^^ I'm itsrick1560 , i'm probably going to change it soon but I have no idea what to, nightisms is taken there and i don't want to feel like i'm copying someone by just adding a hyphen or something lol
I love your comments on my pics c:
ahh im glad ^^ your stuff is super inspiring to me and i love seeing it
